Reimagining Scotland Hall

Jim and Sheena, his wife and business co-owner, began their married life here. The business they continue to build today has grown from humble roots at its kitchen table.  Over the last year Jim and Sheena have transformed this beautiful 17th century barn into a stunning modern rustic home away from home. Not only does it offer a taster of quintessential British country life, but of course the barn is the perfect backdrop to showcase our elegant lighting and home furnishings.

In our brand new spring mailer we invite you to explore each reimagined room, capturing Jim Lawrence modern country style at its finest…

Oversized cream linen shades create a gentle, translucent light over the dining table, softening the heavy framework of the beams in this spacious dining area. White furniture creates an almost weightless dining experience – perfect for late spring evenings and summer lunches.

Layering a sitting room or snug with pools of light from different sources creates a balanced sphere of cosiness for when the night draws in. With the dimmers in place and resting on our soft cushions, the added glow of a real log burner is sure to help you unwind.

Whilst our Harleston Lamps add a soothing glow to snooze by, useful task lighting from our carefully positioned  Edgeware Spotlights and Holt Wall Lights offer stronger directional light for those evenings curled up with a good book.

Our popular Bletchley Bathroom Collection encapsulates a simple, old-fashioned utility style that blends seamlessly with the period bath and other fittings. As with Scotland Hall as a whole, the warmth of our Antiqued Brass finish is a warm contrast to the modern white space, picking up tones of the rustic beams – embracing the character perks rather than masking them is what truly makes period barn restorations so magical.

Our Sussex Pendant Light is an enduring favourite, admired for its sculptural wheat sheaf form and elegance. Inspired by Regency décor, the design has been carefully refined into a more pared-back silhouette that feels balanced and timeless.

Forged from iron and hand finished in our Old Gold paint, the Sussex has a gentle sheen that catches the light beautifully without overpowering a space. Its intricate form draws the eye, making it an ideal feature light for bedrooms and living rooms in both period and modern homes.

The Grantham Wall Light. Every one of our w The Grantham Wall Light.

Every one of our wall lights begins with a considered design process, and the Grantham is no exception. Inspired by the ornate plaster ceiling roses found in Regency homes, its decorative backplate features a traditional floral motif, carefully refined through drawings, prototypes and detailed sampling before final approval.

It’s this thoughtful, time-honoured process, refined over 30 years, that has shaped our collection of over 200 wall light designs.

The Smugglers Wall Light is one of our earliest designs and remains a firm favourite today. Hand forged from solid brass or iron, it has a reassuring weight and a quiet elegance that speaks to its handmade nature.

Inspired by traditional Georgian candle sconces, details such as the generous drip trays and strap-and-rivet backplate reference the leather fixings once used in cottages and inns. Simple, practical and beautifully proportioned, the Smugglers sits just as comfortably in a cosy country kitchen as it does in a Victorian townhouse - a classic wall light made to last.

Jim Lawrence began in 1994 on a small farm. Alongside rearing pigs and cows, Jim set up a forge in one of the outbuildings, making practical pieces for friends and neighbours. What started as a small run of candlesticks, sold at fairs and markets, soon grew as customers looked for well-made fixtures using natural materials.

From those early days on the farm to British manufacturing today, our focus has stayed the same: thoughtful design, honest materials and customers at the centre of it all.

The result is a finish with warmth and character: subtle, rich, and made to endure. A considered accent, crafted slowly, to bring depth and story into your home.

There is something magical about a bright bathroom There is something magical about a bright bathroom filled with geometric prints. Bold shapes and colours can feel energising, but when paired with a carefully chosen glass pendant, the space transforms into a serene escape.

This stunning example from @home_folke shows how colour can hold its own power, yet come together to create harmony. The seamless glass design of The Compton pendant will gently scatter light, casting a soft, calming glow that dances across the room.

It is a beautiful reminder that design is not just about what we see, it is about how it makes us feel.
