We love to hear what our customers think of our products and service and on Wednesday afternoon we were given a real treat from a rather lovely couple who took the time to email Jim this fantastic letter.
“Dear Jim
We were having lunch at a local pub here in Sussex a few weeks ago when Jill commented on a beautiful light on the wall in the style of a sheaf of corn. She suggested it would look great in our dining room (which we are about to redecorate) and so, upon returning home, she searched on Google for “cornsheaf gold wall light”, found your website and then quickly found the “Sussex” lights. We want the pendant plus 3 wall lights but were concerned about ordering them on-line without seeing the pendant (particularly because the cost was way above our original budget). So, we decided to drive up to Hadleigh to see for ourselves…“
Our Sussex Wall Light is one of our personal favourites and it is great to hear that our customers love its unique design as much as we do. Teaming this wall light up with our matching Sussex Pendant creates a rather striking look.
“…Sarah then asked if we would like a tour of the workshops. We said we would and, within five minutes, we were joined by Karen who heads your packing and despatch team. She spent nearly an hour taking us round, showing us the materials, explaining the various manufacturing processes and tracking procedures and introducing us to several of the staff. Incidentally, we asked Lee to sign the photograph of him holding “our” product on page 3 of your fabulous brochure, but he bashfully declined…”
The Sussex Wall Light being made by Lee in the workshop
We love showing off our brand new workshop and all of our fantastically skilled craftsman. It is a great chance for our customers to come and see how we make our products right through to packing and despatch. It seems that Lee was having a rare shy moment!
“…Our trip to Hadleigh will long live in our memories and we will, of course, tell our friends all about your company – the showroom, the workshops, the friendly staff (who could not have been more helpful and interested) and, of course, the wonderfully designed and handmade products. But, more than all of that, there’s an underlying feeling of goodness about the place. You are a remarkable man and we would love to meet you one day but, in the meantime, could not let the moment pass without writing to thank you and to congratulate you and your colleagues on all that you have achieved.”
These kind words touched everyone in Jim Lawrence and I have a feeling Jim may have been paying particular attention to the “remarkable man” reference- it made his day! If you have been to visit us, or if you would like to book a workshop tour then we would love to hear from you.
